Instagram Buying
Instagram Buying: This is the form of making money where you find someone selling a good deal, buy it, then you sell it for more. With these kinds of deals the money is made in the purchase, not the sale.
Here are the rules I stick to when purchasing an item:
Set a certain amount of profit you want to make when selling an item. If a deal doesn’t hit that number, don’t buy it. I’ve bought items before where I make $10-20 and you could say profit is profit, but at the end of the day it just is not worth the time of buying it, selling it, packaging it, and shipping it. If you have a lower budget though, you might still want to do these low profit deals, but as you make your way up I would start to be more particular on what deals to buy
Only buy items that are in demand and wanted by many people. Even if you get a good deal on a brick item (not hyped) it is still not worth it because of how much time it takes to sell. We are looking for quick flips, not holding onto an item for 5 weeks to make a few bucks.
Now you may be asking how to find these good deals which is exactly what I am going to tell you next. Here are the different ways to find a good deal on instagram:
Post on your feed or story saying you are buying all steals. When you start to get a pretty big account, this gets to be the easiest way to find good deals on instagram.
Follow a ton of resellers and browse through your feed and stories until you find a somewhat decent deal. Then message the seller and negotiate with them until you get a price worth buying (I am going to show you how to negotiate after this).
Find kids around your school who wear hyped sneakers/streetwear. Chances are their parents buy that stuff for them and they do not necessarily understand the value of some of the items they have. This is where you message them and ask if they have anything they do not wear anymore or want to sell. Then just buy the item if the price is right
How To Negotiate: The art of negotiating is a skill that no one ever really masters. I am nowhere near an expert on this subject but I have been learning over the past 2 years and am going to show you what I have learned.
Get the seller to the absolute lowest price you can before making a counter offer. The reason for this is because you might counter an offer above what he would have taken. This just makes sure you do not pay more than you need to for the item
After you get his absolute lowest price possible, you are going to offer the lowest price you can think of that would not be considered a lowball.
DO NOT LOWBALL. This is the easiest way to annoy someone and ruin a relationship. Relationships are everything in this game.
Now you just want to work with them until you get a price you are both willing to accept. The first two steps are my main negotiation tactics because they alone will automatically save you a good amount of money without annoying the seller.
Do not negotiate over $5, it is not worth your time and is very annoying to the seller. At the end of the day you would rather pay the extra few dollars to start to build a good relationship with someone than leave a potential really good relationship behind because you were too cheap.
Buying From Websites: By this I mean Supreme, Nike, Adidas, etc. When making a purchase from these sites, it needs to happen as quick as humanly possible, which is why I use an app/chrome extension called Fillr. Just download the app on the app store for mobile purchases and download the chrome extension for computer purchases. The instructions on how to set it up and use it are in the app. Basically what this does is fill in all of your information with the click of a button to make the purchase. A lot of times though when going for items online, it really just comes down to luck. This is why it is important to buy from instagram as well. Most of how to actually cop releases on websites will be in the upcoming section on discord.
Buying From Goat: Goat is the perfect place to find great deals on used shoes. It is competitive, but very worth it when you get a great deal on a pair of shoes. Browsing goat is one way to find these, but also there are a lot of instagram accounts that post when a deal comes up. I would follow these people and turn their post notifications on: @stealscout @thestealfinder @goat.steals @goatappsteals. There are probably more but these are just a few accounts I found. With this part of reselling, there is not much more to it than this. It just takes time figuring out how everything works and getting good at what you do. Experience is everything.
